Ingredients

  • ½ kg sushi-grade tuna steaks, diced into 2 cm cubes
  • ½ cup (125ml) soy sauce
  • ¼ cup (65ml) sesame oil
  • 2 whole green onions, thinly sliced
  • 1 shallot, finely diced
  • 2 tbsp. (30ml) mayonnaise
  • 2 tbsp. (30ml) chili sauce
  • 2 cm piece of ginger, peeled and finely grated
  • 1 avocado, peeled, seeded and cubed
  • ½ cup (120g) cilantro leaves
  • ¼ cup (65g) toasted sesame seeds

Directions

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine soy sauce, sesame oil, green onions, shallots, mayonnaise, chili sauce and ginger
  • Add the tuna and the avocado and refrigerate for at least an hour
  • Serve chilled and top with sesame seeds and cilantro leaves
